Rifleman Fleetwood enlisted in London in late April 1915 and served during the Great War with 1st/8th Battalion, London Regiment (Post Office Rifles). He first went to the Western Front on 28/10/1915 and served for approximately 7 months before being wounded and captured by the Germans during heavy fighting on 21st/22nd May 1916. He died as a Prisoner of War, on 26th May 1916 at the age of 20. Frank was originally buried in Grave No. 727 of Henin Lietard (D’Arcy Fosse) German Cemetery but in August 1923 his body was exhumed and re-interred in Plot XV, Row N, Grave 42 of Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery, Souchez, Pas de Calais, France.
