Herbert Cutts

Enlisted as Private No. 12642 King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry & transferred to RNVR 8/9/14 Benbow Bn. 10th Section, 'C' Company at Antwerp.
On return from Antwerp was drafted to Crystal Palace & joined 'A' Company (A/57) of the new Benbow Bn. 22/2/15, transferred to Nelson Bn.
12/6/15-13/7/15 DD.

Notes: CWGC = Benbow Bn. ; 'B' Company Nelson Bn. 13/7/15 ; 11/9/15 Letter from Sub Lieutenant J.F.A. Pitcairn RNVR, who says Cutts was his Orderly, that he was wounded on 13/7/15, shrapnel below the knee, (thinks left). Stated by Lieutenant Commander Miall-Green, Nelson Bn., to have been recovered. Son of Mr Sam & Mrs. H. Cutts, of 220 Bernard St., Park, Sheffield. ; 1914 Star
