The following is a quote from Douglas Senior, Harry's brother in law:

"His injured foot always gave him great pain, but he was able to walk without crutches or stick. He never complained.

He worked as a cleaner on the Sheffield trams for a long time, and managed to buy a small house for £400 where he lived with his mother and sister.

He had a good voice and had many parts in local musical productions. One of the people he met there was Elsie whom he eventually married. They bought another house at Dronfield and he got another, better job. This was in the engineering industry and involved locating and buying equipment as required by several firms. This he did until he retired in about 1980".

Harry died on 24th May 1992 aged 93 in Ashgate Hospice Chesterfield. His home address at the time was 14 Cheetham Avenue, Unstone, Chesterfield.
