Further Information
One of the British Home children - was in the Children's homes at Fir Vale Workhouse and sent out to Canada. Sadly Edward Hamilton born 7 July 1896 - arrived May 1909 on the Corsican - was killed in action and died 10 November 1917. (Belgium) These are his Canadian Attestation Papers - Edward was a tailor by trade - 44 th Overseas Battalion - signed up 26 April 1915 - papers show that he had a sister Mrs Harrison Harworth Hill Harworth Near Bawtry. Doncaster (that's where his medals were dispatched to)
