Roger Sanson

Roger was Yvonne’s grandfather.

He was born at 36 Creswick street, Sheffield in 1880.
He joined the Yorks & Lancs in 1898 he saw service in Africa in the Boer war, he was shipped to India and discharged to the army reserve in1907. He rejoined in 1914 and was discharged in1919 then re enlisted for one more year, Serjeant # 605874 Royal Engineers, to secure a pension.
Roger was Corporal # 5254 2nd Bn. York & Lancs.
He survived the war and died in later life in 1938.
