John Thomas Houghton

John Thomas was born Elan village, Radnorshire Wales on 01/01/1896.

John Thomas 'H'oughton Son of Samual Horace Oughton and Mary Elizabeth Oughton (Edwards) and brother to Richard. He was adopted out as a
young boy when his mother died and moved to Sheffield with his new family, the Lloyds.

He was working as a Warehouseman and enlisted in Sheffield on 3rd June 1915 aged 19 years. Height 5ft 1 3/4 ins   weight 110 lbs  chest 33 ins.

He arrived in France on 6th May 1916 and joined his unit 22nd May 1916 and was Killed in Action on 7th July 1916 as a Signaller

He is remembered at the Thiepval Memorial for the missing.

Further information from David Boyer, he was employed as a Roller in a local Silver Mill.
