Howard Vincent Dore

Howard was the brother of Michael’s grandfather.


Howard Vincent Dore was the son of Herbert Edward Dore, the "champion barber of Sheffield", who for over 30 years ran a barbers shop on West Bar Green. Howard, also a barber & hairdresser, was married to Elizabeth Housley and on his enlistment they had 4 children and were living at Uttley Street, Darnall.

He was killed in action on 3rd May 1917. His body was not recovered and there is no known grave. His name in commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
Born at Sheffield in 1885.
